Surface Texture

Gently feel the holographic surface with your fingertip.

Completely smooth (sticker holo) or excessively rough — common in counterfeits.

Print Quality

Examine text, borders, and artwork under magnification.

Blurry text, bleeding ink, or inconsistent printing — hallmark of counterfeits.

Card Stock Weight

Compare card weight and thickness to known genuine examples.

Significantly lighter, heavier, thinner, or thicker — wrong card stock.

Edge Quality

Examine the card edges under good lighting.

Rough edges, visible delamination, or single-layer appearance — fake stock.

Color Accuracy

Compare colors side-by-side with a verified genuine card.

Colors appear washed out, oversaturated, or shifted — reprint or fake.

Rarity Symbol

Check the rarity symbol for correct shape, size, and position.

Wrong symbol, wrong position, or incorrect size — definite red flag.
