What Are Population Reports?
Population reports track how many coins of a specific date, mint mark, and grade have been certified by each grading service. A low population at a given grade generally indicates greater rarity and higher value.

How to Use Population Reports
- Pop (Population): Number of coins graded at this exact grade or higher by this service
- Pop Higher: Coins graded ABOVE this grade — fewer higher = more valuable at this grade
- Pop vs Mintage: A tiny fraction of original mintage survives in high grades
- Population can increase over time as more coins are submitted for grading
- Check multiple services (PCGS + NGC) for complete data
