Parameters

How It Works

The gate resistor limits inrush current when charging/discharging the MOSFET gate capacitance. Typical values range from 10–100 Ω.

Peak gate current: I_peak = V_drive / R_gate

Gate drive power: P = Q_g × V_drive × f_sw

Resistor dissipation: P_R = ½ × I_peak² × R × t_switch × f_sw

Lower resistance > faster switching but higher EMI. Higher resistance > lower ringing but more switching loss.
