- ●Run fingertip lightly over surface — ink feels raised
- ●Fine parallel lines visible under 10x magnification
- ●Sharper detail, especially in portraits and lettering

Perforation Counting Guide
Perforations are measured by counting the number of teeth (or holes) per 2cm along one edge.
Use a perforation gauge (perf gauge) for accurate measurement. A Stanley Gibbons or Scott gauge is standard.
Value Factors
Centering
Design equidistant from all edges. Perfect 50/50 is ideal. Off-center stamps lose significant value.
