Folding Steps

1. 1

   Start with a square, colored side up. Fold in half diagonally both ways, unfold.

2. 2

   Flip over. Fold in half horizontally and vertically, unfold.

3. 3

   Collapse: bring top and bottom edges to center as sides fold inward.

4. 4

   Result: a small square (preliminary base) with four flaps, two on each side.
